Walt Disney World Dining Review: Tusker House

One of the easier character dining experiences to get a reservation for is Tusker House in Animal Kingdom. It is located in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom and features Mickey Mouse and friends in their safari gear. It is a buffet and has a selection of African inspired foods. Now, don't let that scare you away. It is a buffet and it has plenty of options.

Characters came around quickly and the restaurant was not packed.

Basmati rice and curry, falalphel, tabouli salad, pita - I forgot to take a picture of the meat

A dessert selection that we shared---get the bread pudding!

Goofy was ready to go fishing!

Mickey was ready to hit Kilimanjaro Safari

Donald is my #1

Daisy rocks this safari outfit

I urge you to go to Tusker House and enjoy some time with Mickey and pals!

Five on Friday: April 26, 2019

It has been a pretty quiet week in the realm of Walt Disney World News, but a few things of note have popped up.  Here we go!

1. Plastic Straws are Leaving the Parks

It is being reported by multiple sources (here is one) that plastic straws are leaving Walt Disney World resort. However, other sources (here is one) are reporting that paper straws are being distributed at Joffrey's Coffee stands.

2. Parkeology Challenge Completed by 2 Guests without FastPasses
The Orlando Sentinel had a story yesterday that 2 people completed the Parkeology Challenge, which is where you try to do all 46 attractions at the four Walt Disney World theme parks in 1 day. And they did it without FastPasses.
Click here for the story from the Orlando Sentinel.

3. Gondola system evacuation tests
The Gondola system is a transportation system that is opening at Walt Disney World this summer. Staff and crews are testing the evacuation procedures this week!

4. Rivers of Light to get an update
The Rivers of Light night time show at Animal Kingdom debuted in February 2017 to less than stellar reviews. I thought it was a beautiful show and fit the theme of the park very well. This week, Disney Parks Blog announced that this summer, Rivers of Light: We Are One will debut. It is an update to the original show. The new show will feature Disney animation and Disney Nature films. It is set to open Memorial Day Weekend.

5. Animal Kingdom turns 21
On Monday, April 22, Animal Kingdom celebrated its 21st birthday!

Have a great weekend!
